Address Cards
![]()
There are ten address cards in a handy clear pocket to the left of the map. The first card is for the MTC (Missionary Training Center) address. This card has no connection to the map, since the missionary is usually only in the MTC for a few weeks before heading out to the actual mission. There are lines on the card where you can write the name of the mission and the Post Office Box at the MTC as well as the street address. This can be used for the Provo MTC as well as any of the other MTCs. You can also write the names of your missionary’s companions on the back, to help keep track of everything.
The second address card is labeled “Mission Home.” This card is for the address of the permanent mission home for that mission. You will use this address to send items in advance of your missionary, such as bedding or a bicycle, as well as using it frequently during the mission. When your missionary is having a transfer week, the only sure way to get a letter to him is by sending it to the Mission Home. Also, some missions require that packages be sent to the mission home. Often, this is the address you will give your ward to put in the weekly bulletin. This address is good for the entire length of the mission, so if you don’t want to constantly give out changes of address, this one comes in handy. You can place this card in one corner of the calendar pocket after your missionary is actually assigned an area, so that it is always handy and visible.
In addition to the MTC and Mission Home cards, we include eight AREA address cards. Each has space to write the address for the current area on the front. Many moms like to jot down the names of the companions on the back. The right edge of the AREA address card has a color bar that matches the map pin for that area. Once you write the address on the card, you place the pin in the corresponding city on the map. This way, you can see at a glance where your missionary is or has been and have the exact address right at hand. Of course, if your missionary is sent to more than eight areas, simply let us know and we will send you additional AREA cards with different color bars and matching map pins.
